Data Calibration and Real-World Models
The purpose of this workshop is to provide participants with detailed guidance as it relates to data collection, analysis and calibration of real-world models. Participants will be provided several real-world examples relating to planning, freeway analysis and arterial evaluations. This workshop is intended for staff that gets involved with performing traffic analysis and may need to understand how to accurately calibrate various types of evaluations.

Bios
Jessica Belowich serves as the traffic department manager for Michael Baker's Moon Township office. Belowich is experienced in both transportation planning and traffic and highway design engineering and management. Belowich's strengths lie in operational analysis and alternatives investigation. Belowich has worked on department of transportation projects in Pennsylvania, Texas, Mississippi, and Arizona.
John A. Albeck, P.E., PTOE, serves as a Traffic Operations Program Manager for Iteris’ Consulting Solutions division. He has more than 30 years of experience specializing in the fields of traffic signal timing and optimization, traffic training course development, traffic modeling, traffic software research, development, documentation and support.
Bastian Schroeder is a Senior Principal Engineer in Kittelson’s Wilmington, North Carolina office and lead’s the company’s research practice. He has a passion for developing solutions to complex problems across all areas of transportation with a focus on advancing agency processes and integrating research into standard practices. He was centrally involved in the development of the FREEVAL-PA software tool and is a contributing author to the HCM2010 and 6th Edition Highway Capacity. He is a member of the TRB Committee on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service as well as the TRB Simulation Committee.
Dan Szekeres is a Senior Associate at Michael Baker International who specializes in a broad range of technical planning services including travel demand modeling, performance measure evaluations, transportation resiliency, air quality planning, and data processing and visualization. His experience encompasses regional long-range plans, congestion management processes, freight plans, corridor and traffic operation studies, safety audits, environmental justice studies, and other transportation planning studies.
